How it works

Three steps from “I’m not sure what I want” to a shortlist you can act on.

  1. Tell us how you like to work

108 questions about your preferences, values and working conditions — the pace you enjoy, the pressure you tolerate, the environments you’d rather avoid. About 20 minutes, at your own pace.

  2. We match you against real careers

Your answers are scored against occupation profiles built from O*NET, the largest open database of what jobs actually demand day to day — not personality archetypes.

  3. Get a report that explains itself

You receive your top matches together with the why: which of your preferences pulled a career up the list, and which quietly ruled others out.

Why Workality

Most career quizzes tell you who you are. We’d rather show you where you’d thrive — and let you check our work.

Grounded in real data

Every career profile is derived from O*NET occupational data — real observations of real jobs, not a quiz author’s imagination.

Fit, not personality types

We don’t sort you into a four-letter box. We measure how well what you want lines up with what each occupation actually asks of you.

Results you can question

Every match comes with readable reasons. If a recommendation feels off, you can see exactly which answer drove it — and rethink either one.

Private by default

No account, no sign-up. Your answers are used to compute your results and nothing else — take the test, read your report, done.

Questions people ask

What the assessment covers, what it costs, and how it differs from the personality quiz you have already taken.

What career is right for me?

That depends on what you want out of work, not on a personality label. Workality asks 108 questions about your values, pace, environment and the pressure you can live with, then scores those answers against 132 occupation profiles built from O*NET data. You get a ranked shortlist and the reasoning behind each match, so you can judge it rather than take it on faith.

Is the career test free?

Yes. The full assessment and the full report are free while Workality is in early access — no paywall at the results screen and no upgrade needed to see your matches.

Do I need an account to take the test?

Not for the assessment or the report — no sign-up, no password, nothing to remember. A planned second stage of Workality, which would track your skills and progress over time, will need a real account, because that is not possible without one. It is not built yet, and nothing you can take today asks you to register.

How long does the career test take?

About 20 minutes for all 108 questions. There is no timer and nothing is scored on speed, so you can take as long as you like over the ones that need thought.

How is this different from a personality test?

A personality test sorts you into a type and then infers careers from the type. Workality skips the type entirely: it compares what you say you want against what each occupation is documented to demand day to day. No four-letter box, and every match arrives with the answers that produced it.

What is O*NET, and why does it matter here?

O*NET is the US Department of Labor's open database describing what real occupations involve — the activities, conditions and values that characterise each one. Workality's 132 career profiles are derived from it, so your matches rest on observed job data rather than on a quiz author's assumptions about what a job is like.

Does this work for a career change, or only a first job?

It is built for both. The questions ask how you want to work now — not what you studied or where you have been — so someone rethinking a career at forty is assessed on exactly the same footing as someone choosing a first one.

Twenty minutes now, a clearer direction after.

The test is free while Workality is in early access. Your future self gets the report.
